Part of the grand plan for me moving in with Cathie was to add a third garage bay -- or equivalent. There being no good way to really do that, we hired a remodeller neighbor to draw up plans for a serious workshop addition, attached to the house, as big as possible for the physical site and within zoning. It would have required a real foundation, been wired for electricity, and -- cost over $15K.
Then we discovered Rocky Mountain Storage Barns could provide us a bit smaller, custom, "unattached" shed, with no building permit required, for a whole lot less; about $3500 by the time we're done finishing it. Cathie figured out how we could put the workshop area in her garage after all, leaving the shed for just outdoor storage. If we ever run power to it, it will just be for some lights.
These photos were taken over three successive weeks/weekends of shed prep and construction work. Not shown is the dryer vent relocation the previous weekend.
