For the first time in a couple of months, Cathie and I had some free time and a decent weather forecast for a trip to her mountain property. Of course "decent" meant 14 degree lows overnight! Well that was better than the -8 degree minimum outdoor reading the thermometer up there recorded in our absence.
We drove up on Christmas Eve aiming to spend one night, but stocked for longer, and sure enough we ended up staying for two nights. Also without pre-planning we did a very long walk on Christmas Day -- nearly five miles on two big loops, in nearly three hours, back home just after sunset.
