After a pleasant night sleeping out under the clouds, stars, and moon, ignoring the coal trains that rumbled past in the distance, I got an early start the next morning. I drove back west to the pavement, north to a BuRec access area about 6 miles north of town, east half a mile until the road got muddy, geared up, dragged the kayak across the mud, launched at 7:30 am, paddled east across the lake, and pulled up on shore here. I locked up the kayak to a tree and spent the next three hours exploring around and rockhounding on the north peninsula.
