The Elk Horn campground on the south shore of the north bay was still closed, and would not open for at least another week. Although people were working on cleaning it up at 6:30 pm on a Thursday evening, it wouldn't be ready in time for me. I did a quick tour to the boat ramp and back before going elsewhere for the night.
Note how the trees in the distance lost nearly all their leaves up to the lake's peak level earlier in the summer. The driftwood pile in the foreground was bulldozed together by the maintenance crew.
